so many times in the jw, i saw couples getting married.
but what struck me so often was the difference in age between the man and wife.
often the man was 15-25 years older than the woman.

Why do you think age should matter? Does love recognize an age difference? Some of my closest friends are 15-20 years older, and we respect and love each other's company. If I could get a long with my "older" friends so well, why would it may a difference in an intimate relationship, aside from the JW belief of living forever?
I'm curious as to why this bothers you.
as many know, witchywoman came to visit me this past week and returned home today.
all in all, it was the most wonderful 4 days we have both spent in a very long time.
having her with me was very comfortable and felt so natural.. i cooked meals everyday, to impress her of some of my other talents, of course .

i know of some that pioneered because they felt they had to.
we know of many that felt awful because they were ridiculed because they were witness children and had to get baptized and face school pressure, all the while hating it.
Not being allowed to be around my boyfriend as often as I wanted or HOW I wanted. The dating scene pretty much sucked. I married this guy.....it didn't survive.

I've be out for about 4 years, and I still don't celebrate the holidays. I just can't find the desire in me to do so....they still feel like any other day. Of course, my kid's birthdays are very special to me, but I still can't celebrate them. Maybe it has something do with my kid's father still being a JW, and the kids find themselves in the middle.
today the trial opened for christian longo the disfellowshipped jehovah's witness that is accused of murdering his wife and three young children in a small coastal city in oregon.
the prosecution went into detail describing how christian longo had premeditation in his acts and how he planed his steps after and before the murders.
i won't go into the details of how he killed his wife and kids but i would like to bring out a few of the statements he made during an interview with an fbi agent he sat with on the flight back from mexico.. christian longo in a somewhat calm voice told the fbi agent why he did what he did.

Meet-ups....what a great concept!!
I have met some very special friends and have had some very good conversations. I live in the Portland, OR area and the meet-ups we have here have been more than I ever expected.

i just heard that fred rogers (aka mr. rogers) died today of complications related to stomach cancer.. my kids loved watching his show as much as they enjoyed watching mr. dressup.
when ernie coombs (mr. dressup) passed away a week after 9/11, my kids were devastated, it was like one of their best friends had died.
i was devastated too - for my kids and for the part of me that also enjoyed mr. dressup as a child.. give your kids a big hug today when you tell them the news about mr. rogers.
I was so sad to hear Mr. Rogers died......
I grew up with Mr. Rogers, as well as Romper Room and Captain Kangaroo. I feel as though part of my childhood just died with him.

I really enjoyed this book too. Except I found myself a little frustrated....why wouldn't she just get out!! She kept going back and forth about the issue. I felt like screaming just like you do!
